Log Book Servicing FAQ's
What is a Log Book Service?
Whenever a new car is sold, it is delivered with a manufacturers Log book. The Log book outlines the manufacturer recommendations for that car's service intervals, procedures and inspection points. It is a guide from the people who made your car for what should be serviced, replaced or inspected on your new car, how often and when.
Why do I need a Log book Service ?
Sticking to the Log Book's guidelines will help maintain your vehicle in its safest and most reliable state. It also means your car is kept in its peak performance state - extending the life of your car and avoiding any unnecessary repair costs or breakdowns.
Adhering to your car's log book schedule will also help to maintain a higher resale value if and when it comes time to sell your car. New purchasers will be happier to buy a car that has been fully maintained to the manufacturers standards, knowing that the car they are about to buy is safe and in the best working condition.
Don't I have to visit only the people who sold me my new car to get a Log book Service or to keep my New Car Warranty ?
NO. New car dealers cannot void your statutory warranty if you have services or repairs done at a service centre other than the dealerships service centre. You are free to go to any mechanic or car service centre of your choice for your regular Log book servicing. You do however, need to ensure that the selected car service centre employs qualified mechanics and technicians, that the servicing meets manufacturer's specifications and that appropriate quality parts are used.
